About the Brigade
The 501st Glorious Mountain Brigade was formed in 1992 as the 1st Bihać Infantry Brigade. It held the title 'Glorious' and was one of the key units of the 5th Corps in the defense of the Bihać Pocket. Under the command of Senad Šarganović, the brigade participated in the defense of Bihać during three years of siege, and later in operations Grmeč '94 and Sana '95 which led to the liberation of Ključ.
