Course of the Operation
Operation Maestral was the first significant joint operation of HV, HVO and the Army of BiH in western Bosnia. It lasted from 8 to 17 September 1995, during which an area of about 2,500 km² was liberated. The 5th Corps advanced from the direction of Bihać toward Mount Grmeč, Bosanski Petrovac and Bosanska Krupa. Simultaneously, HV and HVO liberated Drvar, Šipovo and Jajce. After this operation, the 5th Corps launched Operation Sana '95 which led to the liberation of Ključ and Sanski Most.
