Event Details

The Dayton Peace Agreement was signed on 21 November 1995 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, ending the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the time of signing, the 5th Corps held more than 11% of the territory of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a significant territorial gain compared to the beginning of the war when the corps was surrounded in the Bihać Pocket. After the end of the war, the 5th Corps was transformed into the 5th Corps of the Army of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which existed until the defense system reform in 2006. The legacy of the 5th Corps lives on through the memory of the courage and sacrifice of its members.
